Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0081159A2] 1. Apparatus for the chip-removing machining of timbers, in particular beams (8) or boards, which, laid in the axial direction on a feed table (17), can be fed to one or more cylinder saws (6) which are driven rotatably on a machine frame (1) by way of belts (9), each cylinder saw (6) carrying at least on the front end face a toothing (7) and being mounted on the machine frame (1) so as to be radially and axially non-displaceable, in which the support plane afforded by the feed table (17) underneath the end face of the cylinder saw (6) is adjustable and in which the cylinder saw (6) is held rotatably in a recess (5) of the machine frame (1) and in which the belt (9) embraces the outer periphery of the cylinder saw (6) in the form of a closed band and in which the cylinder saw (6) is mounted on carrying rollers (2) which engage at the outer periphery of the cylinder saw in grooves (15), characterised in that opposite the looping region of the belt (9) in the longitudinal direction are provided two carrying rollers (2) which are arranged one behind the other and in that provided laterally on the cylinder saw (6) in the region of the centre axis are mutually opposed guide rollers (3, 4) which lie one behind the other in pairs in the longitudinal direction.
