Two stage suspension device for a railway vehicle simple axle constituted by two suspension stages of which one (primary suspension 15, 39) directly connects the bearing box (17) by means of a part of said box (16, 47) to an intermediary beam (6, 36) which is itself supported by the other stage (secondary suspension 4, 32, 33), which bears on supports directly connected to the vehicle body (1, 30), characterized in that the prementioned intermediary beams (6) are connected two by two by cross-beams (7, 8) symetrically placed with respect to the axis (10) of the axle (11) and thus making a rigid frame maintaining the geometry of the whole assembly, in that the primary suspension (15) is placed between the outer casing (16) of the bearing box (17) and the intermediary beam (6) in vertical direction and in that the supports for the secondary suspension (4) are formed by prismatic cases (2, 3) forming abutment, so as to give a small inclination from bottom to top and in opposition to the elements forming the secondary suspension.
