Abstract (en)
A particulate, freeflowing, fluid-bed catalyst comprising a porous catalyst support having a surface area of greater than 1 to less than 350 m<2>/gm and a pore volume of 0.4 to 3.0 cc/gm and a Group VIII metal or mixture thereof on the pore surfaces of said support, said Group VIII metal or mixture being present in an amount equivalent to at least one atomic layer. This catalyst is capable of catalyzing carbon deposition and methanation reactions with high catalytic activity and has a combination of physical properties making it suitable for use in a conventional fluid-bed reactor.
