[origin: US4397234A] A heat exchange system for an electromagnetically operated print hammer of a print hammer bank provides internal and external heat transfer for the operating windings. A non-magnetic metal bobbin of the heat exchange system provides conductive transfer of heat from the interior of the operating winding to the magnetic core. Flat parallel plates of magnetic material are attached to the sides of the operating winding for external heat transfer and magnetic flux shielding. The plates may have multiple laminations having different saturation and permeability characteristics.

In den hohlen Spulenkörper (25) der Spule (32) ragen von einer Seite ein Elektromagnetjoch (15) und von der anderen Seite ein Fortsatz (13) magnetisch weichen Materials eines schwenkbaren Druckhammers (12). Zwischen den Polenden des Elektromagnetjoches und des Druckhammerfortsatzes ist ein magnetischer Arbeitsspalt ausgebildet. Spulenkörper und Spule liegen zwischen zwei Magnetfeld abschirmenden Platten (34, 35; 45, 46). Eine Abbschirmplatte (35) kann zum Einführen von danach zu vergießender Spule und Spulenkorper eine Aussparung (40) aufweisen. Diese Aussparung ist in Druckhammerbänken von der durchgehenden Abschirmplatte der Nachbarspuleneinheit abgedeckt. Enger Wärmekontakt des Spulenkörpers zum Elektromagnetjoch, gut wärmeleitender Verguß-Kunststoff (43) sowie um Abschirmplatten und Spule zirkulierende Kühlluft bewirken eine gute Wärmeabführung.
