Improved assembly for evacuating smoke with recovery facility, for closed hearths of chimneys, comprising a direct evacuation aperture occluded by a register (6) mounted in a support frame (9) disposed under the outlet stack (7), characterised in that the register (6) is pivotable with a flat valve (14) and is operated by a push rod (17) which has one of its ends in contact with the access door while its other end is in contact with the valve, of which the actual weight constitutes an opening return force and in that the outlet stack (7) projects on the inside towards the valve to a small distance from the end of the flap (14) when this latter is in the open position, in order to improve direct evacuation.
