Airing and drying support for garments having an upright mast (1) on which a multi-armed spreadable support (10) to accomodate a laundry-line is fitted, wherein the laundry-line forms horizontally tensioned rope polygons (5) in the spread position of the spreadable support and having a device to pull in the laundry-line into the arms of the spreadable support in the folded position, characterized in that a traction element (7), to which the laundry-line of each rope polygon (5) is articulated, is arranged adjustably in each of the arms (4), whilst two articulation points (18) arranged at an interval, between which the laundry-line can travel, are provided on the traction element (7) for each rope polygon (5), and the intervals have a value increasing from the outside inwards correspondingly to the pull-in, and that the traction element (7) is connected to an operating device (8) located outside the arm (4).
