[origin: US4521032A] The present invention relates to a brake device for skis which comprises two lateral arms (1, 1') resiliently connected to each other by a spring loop (2) and each bearing as a result of this resilient action against an incline (4, 4') forming an angle with the upper surface of the ski and which has an element (6) secured to the ski. The spring loop connecting the two lateral arms serves as a lever and is adapted to be actuated by the boot to control the movement of the arms between an active position, in which they extend below the sole of the ski (7) and are outwardly directed from the latter, and an inactive position, in which they are retracted substantially parallel and above the lateral edges of the ski.

La présente invention concerne un dispositif de freinage pour ski qui comporte deux branches latérales (1, 1') reliées élastiquement l'une à l'autre par une boucle-ressort (2) et en appui sous l'effet de cette action élastique contre une pente (4, 4') faisant un angle avec la surface supérieure du ski et que présente un élément (6) solidaire du ski. La boucle-ressort reliant tes deux branches latérales sert de levier et est destinée à être actionnée par la chaussure pour commander le déplacement de ces branches entre une position active, dans laquelle elles font saillies sous la semelle du ski (7) et sont dirigées vers l'extérieur de celui-ci, et une position inactive, dans laquelle elles sont escamotées sensiblement parallèlement et au-dessus des rebords latéraux du ski.
