1. Mobile, free-standing wall unit, especially suited for forming acoustic stage backwalls, having a pedestal (1) and at least a wall portion (2) mounted on it, wherein the pedestal is shaped as a carriage and arranged for piling a plurality of such wall units, so that a respective pedestal of a further wall unit can be inserted therein, said pedestal (1) having two side bars (3) converging in trapezoidal shape and being connected by means of a first transverse bar (4) at the narrow end, characterized in that the side bars are connected by means of an upwardly displaced second transverse bar (12) carrying the wall portion (2), which is mounted to be pivotable along its vertical axis on said transverse bar, so that the wall portion can be used on either side.

Das Wandelement besteht aus einem Wandteil (2) und einem daran verankertem Fussgestell (1), das als Wagen so ausgebildet ist, dass ein Fussgestell (1) eines weiteren Wandelementes darin einschiebbar ist. Die Wandelemente können auf kleinem Raum gelagert werden und unabhängig vom Schnürboden auf der Bühne oder in anderen Räumen frei verfahren werden. Die Verankerung des Wandteils (2) unmittelbar am Fussgestell erlaubt den Einsatz massivier Plattenbauteile, welche akustisch günstig wirken. Ueberdies erlaubt dies, das Wandelement zugleich als Stützelement für weitere Bühneneinrichtungen, wie Scheinwerfer etc., zu verwenden, sodass mit den Wandelementen ein Bühnenraumaufgebaut werden kann.
