[origin: WO8300711A1] A terminal dam apparatus for use in collecting oil or the like floating on a water surface. The apparatus comprises a barrier member (1) having an opening (2) for the through-flow of collected oil or the like, and having end portions which, in use, e.g. are connected to the ends of respective, conventional dam lengths for the formation of a horseshoe configuration for guiding of captured oil towards the apparatus. The barrier member is a rigid plate structure (1) which, by means of buoyancy means (12), are arranged to float in an essentially vertical position, and on which there is mounted a gate means (23, 24) and an associated operating means (34) which may be actuated to move the gate between positions wherein the opening is closed and open, respecively. A flexible hose is connected to the opening on the side facing away from the collecting area, for conducting away collected oil to a vessel or the like.

Un appareil terminal de barrage est utilisé dans la récupération d'huile ou autres substances flottant à la surface de l'eau. L'appareil comprend un organe faisant barrière (1) ayant une ouverture (2) pour l'écoulement de l'huile ou autres matières récupérées, et ayant des portions extrêmes qui, en utilisation, sont reliées aux extrémités des longueurs respectives d'un barrage conventionnel pour la formation d'une configuration en fer à cheval permettant de guider l'huile encerclée vers l'appareil. L'organe faisant barrière est une structure en plaque rigide (1) qui, à l'aide de moyens de flottaison (12), flotte dans une position essentiellement verticale, et sur laquelle sont montés une porte d'écluse (23, 24) et un dispositif associé de fonctionnement (34) qui peut être actionné pour déplacer la porte d'écluse entre des positions permettant de fermer et d'ouvrir respectivement l'ouverture. Un tuyau flexible est relié à l'ouverture du côté regardant à l'opposé de la zone de récupération pour acheminer l'huile récupérée vers un bateau ou autre.
