[origin: CA1188635A] DEVICE FOR SLOWING DOWN AND STOPPING MACHINES ROLLING ON RAILS The device comprises a body 1 for placing on a rail R for the purpose of receiving a wheel of a machine to be slowed down and stopped and forming an abutment for the wheel, and an arrangement for connecting the device to the rail. The connecting arrangement comprises a plate 7 carrying elastically yieldable claws 10 and 11 which are maintained spread apart in their position of rest. The plate 7 is adapted to be applied against the rail R and is pivotally connected to an arrangement 21 for moving the claws 10 and 11 towards each other for the purpose of closing them around the head of the rail. The arrangement 21 is connected to the body 1 of the device.

Le dispositif comprend un corps (1) destiné à être placé sur un rail (R) en vue de recevoir une roue d'un engin à ralentir et à arrêter et formant butoir pour cette roue et des moyens de solidarisation du dispositif avec le rail. Les moyens de solidarisation sont constitués par une platine (7) portant des griffes élastiques (10, 11) maintenues écartées en position de repos, la platine (7) étant destinée à être appliquée sur le rail (R) et étant articulée sur des moyens (21) de rapprochement desdites griffes (10, 11) en vue de leur serrage sur le boudin du rail, lesdits moyens de rapprochement (21) étant solidaires du corps (1) du dispositif.
