Carrying strip for a container (B) provided with a cover (D), said carrying strip being made of a semirigid material, flexible in longitudinal direction and cooperating with a locking piece for securing the cover (D) of the container against inadvertent opening thereof, characterized in that one end portion (1a) of the carrying strip (1) is provided with a serration or corrugation (2), said end portion (1a) being received in and longitudinally movable within a sleeve-like locking piece (V) attached to the wall of the container, the inside of the locking piece (V) facing the serration (2) of the carrying strip (1) having at least one latch member cooperating with the serration or corrugation (2) and a release member cooperating with the latch member to disengage the latter from engagement in the serration (2).
