[origin: JPS57174305A] PURPOSE:A phenolic-OH-containing AS resin excellent in heat resistance, adhesion, etc., prepared by copolymerizing acrylonitrile with styrene and p-isopropenylphenol. CONSTITUTION:An acrylonitrile/styrene (AS) resin consisting of 30-65mol% acrylonitrile, 1-55mol% styrene and 10-60mol% p-isopropenylphenol (refer to the triangular coordinate diagram). As a process for producing the above resin, a radical polymerization method using an azo, peroxide or redox initiator is preferred.
