[origin: US4499621A] In a pass-through washing machine, use is made of three-minute rinse cycles. Accordingly, only two chambers are required for four rinsing stages during two wash cycles. The warm first rinse water of the pre-heated, pre-washed laundry is mixed to save time and energy required to heat the liquid mixture. The pass-through washing machine can thus be constructed in a compact form on a frame.

Verfahren und Durchlaufwaschmaschine zum Waschen von Wäsche, bestehend aus einem durch mit einer Übergabeöffnung versehenen Trennwände in Kammern (K1-K5) unterteilten Rohr, wobei die mit der Übergabe der Wäsche von jeweils einer Kammer zur andern bestimmte Behandlungszeit der Wäsche in den mit Schleusen versehenen Kammern halbiert wird, indem nach der halben Taktzeit die Lauge oder das Spülwasser abgelassen wiederverwendet und neue Lauge oder neues Spülwasser eingespeist wird.
