Abstract (en)
[origin: WO8300902A1] Ignition timing controller for an internal combustion engine. A projection on a magnetic rotor (1) is detected by pulsers (2), (3) to obtain a pulse (a) indicating the maximum advance position and a pulse (b) indicating the minimum advance position. A delay circuit (20) is provided which generates a pulse (j) delayed by a period according to the state of the engine (such as temperature and manifold vacuum, etc.) from the pulse (a) indicating the maximum advance position. The delay circuit (20) is composed of a first integrating capacitor (204) which is charged and discharged by a voltage according to the state of the engine. A second integrating capacitor (7) is also provided. The charging and discharging of the capacitor (7) is controlled by the pulses (a), (b) and the delayed pulse (j). An ignition pulse (g) is obtained by comparing the voltage of the capacitor (7) with a reference value. Since the number of indispensable integrating capacitors is reduced by constructing the ignition timing control circuit of two integrating capacitors, the changes with time are small and a small-sized controller can be obtained.
