A regulating screw for a mixture-forming device for internal combustion engines, for controlling the open cross-section of a constricted orifice in a channel through which flows a stream of fuel, air or fuel-air mixture, the regulating screw having a regulating cone for setting a fixed open cross-section, a screw thread and an adjustment head, characterised in that the regulating cone (8) is situated between apertures (20 and 22) of an internal channel (18) which penetrates axially through the regulating cone (8), the internal channel (18) having a constricted passage (19) whose open cross-section is controlled by a flow-adjustor (30) connected to a diaphragm (27) which is retained by a cap (31) in an adjustment head (17), the diaphragm (27) separating a chamber (33) in the adjustment head (17) from a chamber (36) under the cap (31), the diaphragm (27) responding, against the influence of a spring (35), to a pressure difference in the chambers (33, 36) by varying the open cross-section of the constricted passage (19).
