Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0088455A2] A process for the manufacture of fabric, the warp yarns of which are intended, in a subsequent operation after the drawing out of the weft yarn or yarns, to be fed to a machine for making sheet-like textile material. The fabric has a weft density low in relation to normal fabrics (loosely woven article). The loosely woven article contains at least one weft yarn which is picked in the form of draw- out weft loops. The closed ends of the weft loops are secured by a pull-up course. Whilst the loosely woven article is to be used for supplying finished-article looms with the necessary warp yarns, the present invention is intended to avoid the outlay necessary for winding up the freshly produced or freshly processed yarns, unwinding them again in front of the looms and transporting the bobbin bodies back again. According to the invention, the loosely woven article is produced immediately downstream of a yarn-making or yarn-processing machine. The invention also relates to constructional measures on a loosely-woven fabric loom which allow a high production speed. <IMAGE>
