[origin: CA1184576A] A CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING ASSEMBLY The cross-country skiing assembly comprises a ski shoe and a ski binding for fixing the shoe on a ski. A toe block at the front end of the shoe has a fastening contour which is capable of cooperating with complementary fastening means on a shoe-retaining stirrup of the ski binding. A spring-loaded locking and releasing lever of the ski binding permits automatic positioning of the ski shoe by downward engagement. The shoe-retaining stirrup 15 pivotally mounted on a cross-pin which is adjacent to the front end face of the toe block.

Ensemble pour ski de fond qui comprend une chaussure et un dispositif de fixation de celle-ci sur un ski. La partie antérieure de la chaussure présente, en vue de dessus, un contour d'accrochage apte à coopérer avec des moyens d'accrochage complémentaires portés par l'étrier de retenue (3) de la fixation. La fixation comporte un organe de verrouillage (10) sollicité par un ressort (13) et agencé pour autoriser la mise en place automatique de la chaussure par emboîtement de haut en bas. L'étrier de retenue (3) est articulé autour d'un axe transversal (9) situé juste à la pointe de la chaussure.
