[origin: EP0088865A1] Plastics sheets and awnings are permanently inscribed by initially softening the plastics sheet or awning in a first step, by applying a transfer design with an inscription onto the initially-softened surface of the plastics sheet or awning in a second step and, in a third step, by applying onto the applied transfer design and its surrounding area a lacquer which initially softens the plastics sheet or awning. The awning or sheet (1) thus inscribed has on its surface a lacquer layer (2) on which is disposed a transfer design (3) with an inscription (5), and a further lacquer layer (4) applied onto the transfer design. In this method of construction the plasticisers of the respective lacquer layers migrate into the transfer design. <IMAGE>
