1. A hair curling apparatus having a preferably cylindrical rod member (1, 47) which contains a heating device and is held at one end in a handle part (2), a fuel tank (2) containing the fuel (3) for the heating device, a combustion chamber (B) accommodated in the handle part and comprising a catalyst (43), and an ignition device (Z) disposed at the end of the rod member remote from the handle part as well as a valve device (13, 33) disposed between fuel tank and combustion chamber, characterised in that, the ignition device (Z) comprises a friction wheel (26, 93) for a flint (23, 109), which wheel is driven via a rotary ring (31, 86), the axis of rotation of which extends parallel to the longitudinal axis of the rod member (1) or coincides with this.

Mechanische Zündvorrichtung für ein katalytisch beheiztes, stabförmiges Haarwellgerät, bei dem die Zündvorrichtung mit einem Dreh- Ring 31 betätigt wird, dessen Drehachse parallel zur Längsachse des stabförmigen Gerätes 1 verläuft oder mit dieser zusammenfällt. Der Dreh- Ring 31 wirkt über eine Fortschaltvorrichtung 27, 28, 29, 18, 19 auf ein Reibrad 26 für einen Zündstein 23.
