1. A hair curling apparatus having a preferably cylindrical rod member (tube 56, basic body 50) which contains a heating device and is held at one end in a handle part (54), a fuel tank (= handle part 54) containing the fuel (3) for the heating device, a combustion chamber (B) accommodated in the handle part and comprising a catalyst (77) and an ignition device (Z) disposed at the end of the rod member remote from the handle part as well as a valve device (74, 75, 76, 97, 98, 99, 55, 101, 102, 103) disposed between fuel tank and combustion chamber, wherein the ignition device (Z) disposed in the tube (56) in front of the combustion chamber (B) comprises a batterie (57) which can be connected into a circuit (61, 62, 63, 79, 80) comprising a heating filament (60) through an operating button (59) movably mounted at the free end (58) of the tube (56).
