[origin: US4508501A] A process for the surveillance of jacketed radiant heating tubes and recuperative burners using a detector responding to the oxygen partial pressure in the exhaust gas. At low exhaust gas temperatures down to 200 DEG to 300 DEG C., an abrupt change in the detector output signal occurring due to the transition from over-stoichiometric to under-stoichiometric combustion and vice-versa is detected and is reproduced as an actuating and/or alarm signal. The process can also be used for flame surveillance, for the determination of leaks and cracks in jackets, and for surveillance of the tightness of closed magnetic gas valves.

Ein Verfahren zur Überwachung von Mantelstrahlheizrohren und Rekuperatorbrennern unter Verwendung eines auf den O2-Partialdruck im Abgas ansprechenden Meßfühlers. Bei niedrigen Abgastemperaturen bis hinunter zu 200 - 300°C wird eine durch den Übergang von überstöchiometrischer auf unterstöchiometrische Verbrennung, und umgekehrt, auftretende sprunghafte Änderung des Meßfühler-Ausgangssignals ermittelt und als Schalt- und/oder Warnsignal wiedergegeben. Das Verfahren kann auch zur Flammenüberwachung, zur Feststellung von Leckstellen und Rissen in Mantelrohren und zur Überwachung der Dichtigkeit von abgesperrten Gas-Magnetventilen verwendet werden.
