In a tool holder (2) of a planing tool (1), having fitting pins (4) arranged on the tool holder (2) and capable of being inserted into fitting holes (5) provided in throw-away tools (3) and/or carbide cutting plates, the tool holder (2) and the throw-away tool (3) and/or the carbide cutting plate form a planing-tool unit which can be inserted into a planing machine, the fitting pins (4) protruding from the tool holder (2) by not more than the thickness of the throw-away tool (3) or the carbide cutting plate. In order to provide the particularly simple and reliable tool holder of a planing tool, the method of manufacturing this tool holder being considerably simplified in relation to the known methods, the fitting pins (4) are embossed from the tool holder (2). <IMAGE>

Bei einem Messerträger (2) eines Hobelmessers (1), mit auf dem Messerträger (2) angeordneten Paßstiften (4), die in in Einwegmessern (3) und/oder Hartmetallplatten ausgebildete Paßlöcher (5) einsetzbar sind, bilden der Messerträger (2) und das Einwegmesser (3) und/oder die Harmetallplatte eine Hobelmesser-Einheit, die in eine Hobelmaschine einsetzbar ist, wobei die Paßstifte (4) maixmal um die Dicke des Einwegmessers (3) oder der Hartmetallplatte aus dem Messerträger (2) hervorragen. Um einen besonders einfachen und sicheren Messerträger eines Hobelmessers zu Verflügung zu stellen, wobei das Verfahren zur Herstellung dieses Messerträgers gegenuber den bekannten Verfahren wesentlich vereinfacht ist, ist vorgesehen, daß die Paßstifte (4) aus dem Messerträger (2) herausgeprägt sind.
