[origin: US4421516A] An improved process for preparing discharge prints on textile materials containing hydrophobic fibers wherein at least one disperse dyestuff dischargeable to white is applied to the textile material in the form of a dyeing liquor of print paste and also contacted by a pattern-applied discharge resist print paste, and then the material is heat treated at 100 DEG to 230 DEG C. wherein the improvement comprises said discharge resist print paste having, under the heat treatment conditions, a pH value of zero to 3.

Bei dem Verfahren zur Herstellung von Ätzreservedrucken auf Textilmaterialien, die aus hydrophoben Fasern bestehen oder in überwiegendem Maße hydrophobe Fasern enthalten, wird auf das Textilmaterial ein oder mehrere weißätzbare Dispersionsfarbstoffe und gegebenenfalls ein oder mehrere ätzbeständige Dispersionsfarbstoffe in Form einer Farbflotte oder Druckpaste aufgebracht und anschließend angetrocknet oder getrocknet und danach eine Ätzreservedruckpaste in dem gewünschten Muster aufgedruckt, die gegebenenfalls zusätzlich einen oder mehrere ätzbeständige Dispersionsfarbstoffe enthält, und anschließend bei 100 bis 230°C wärmebehandelt. Dabei wird eine Ätzreservedruckpaste verwendet, die bei der Wärmebehandlung einen pH-Wert von gleich oder kleiner als 3 besitzt.
