An improved ceiling beam construction for a heating furnace 1 in which ceiling beams 6 having a closed cross section are adopted for utilizing the interior of the beams simultaneously as ducts 7 for passing gases through them so as to reduce space required for installing separate gas ducts, with a consequent decrease in the number of duct supporting fittings or fixtures.
