This device comprises, on the one hand, a piece (3) in the form of a long-pitch gimlet which, integral with one (2) of the two elements (2, 7) articulated on each other, is oriented according to the axis of articulation of the two elements and, on the other hand, a nut (6) which, engaged on the gimlet (3), of short length with respect to that of the gimlet and having a section permitting its translation on the gimlet and its self-locking in rotation thereon, is locked in rotation relative to the second element (7) in question of the furniture, at least during the period of use of the latter. Ce dispositif comprend, d'une part, une pièce (3) en forme de vrille à pas long qui, solidaire de l'un (2) des deux éléments (2, 7) articulés l'un sur l'autre, est orientée selon l'axe d'articulation des deux éléments et, d'autre part, une noix (6) qui, engagée sur la vrille (3), de longueur courte vis-à-vis de celle de la vrille, et de section permettant sa translation sur la vrille et son autoblocage en rotation sur celle-ci, est bloquée en rotation par rapport au second élément (7) considéré du meuble, au moins pendant la période d'utilsation de celui-ci. Application à la réalisation de meubles de jardin.
