[origin: WO8301177A1] A hand tool for applying ear tags to animals is provided with an automatic return so that with a single motion arms (8, 9) bearing a slot (21) and an applicator blade (22) are pivoted together so that the applicator blade bearing an ear tag pierces and installs in an animal's ear, and identification ear tag; and the arms, having accomplished their purpose, immediately automatically withdraw by pivoting away from each other, thereby minimizing injury to the animal's ear. The device is particularly adaptable to use with one-piece ear tags.

Un outil manuel permet d'appliquer des étiquettes aux oreilles d'animaux et est pourvu d'un système de retour automatique de sorte qu'avec un seul mouvement des bras (8, 9) portant une fente (21) et un couteau applicateur (22) pivotent ensemble de manière que le couteau applicateur portant une étiquette d'oreille perce l'oreille d'un animal pour y fixer une étiquette d'identification; les bras ayant effectué cette opération se retirent immédiatement de manière automatique en s'éloignant par pivotement l'un de l'autre, réduisant ainsi au minimum la blessure sur l'oreille de l'animal. Le dispositif s'adapte particulièrement aux étiquettes en une pièce.
