The edges and hems of textile sheet materials which are to be used, for example, as conveyor belts or filter cloths are respectively reinforced or closed with improved elasticity, adhesion and hydrolysis resistance by treating the edge or hem with a radiation-curable, ethylenically unsaturated composition and then irradiating with crosslinking-active radiation.

Die Kantenverfestigung bzw. Randabdichtung textiler Flächengebilde, die beispielsweise als Transportbänder oder Filtertücher verwendet werden, mit verbesserter Elastizität, Haftung und Hydrolysenfestigkeit gelingt, indem Kante bzw. Rand mit strahlenhärtbaren, ethylenisch ungesättigten Massen behandelt und anschließend einer vernetzungsaktiven Strahlung ausgesetzt werden.
