[origin: WO8303462A1] The device is used for the protection of installations conveying gas, vapors or air against pressure waves and particularly it is used to protect the components of aeration or air conditioning installations and the conduits thereof. The flap device is comprised of a frame structure and of a plurality of pivoting lamellae (15) in a plane about parallel axes, which lamellae are held in their opening positions by return forces and bear against stops. Particular distinctive features: the lamellae (15) are comprised substantially of plane bands, each of them pivoting about an axis located approximately along its longitudinal edge. In the shock direction of the pressure waves (22), and after the lamellae, a support grid (5) is arranged which is fixed to the frame structure, covering the base surface of the lamellae. The bars (9, 7) of this grid have a spacing adapted to the width of the lamellae (15) which are adhered to those bars in their closure positions, at least on most of the bearing points distributed on their lengths.
