Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0090741A1] 1. Device for the compensation of the pitch whereto a submerged load (2) is exposed which is suspended from a vessel (1) through a cable (3) one end of which is fixed to said load and the other end of which is wound on a winch (4) placed on the vessel, the cable, between the winch and the load, being wound on a tackle having first (6) and second (7) sets of pulleys, the tackle being associated with means (8) for causing the distance between the two sets of pulleys to vary in response to signals generated by a control chain receiving the results of inertial measurements at said load and/or of force measurements on said cable, said means comprising at least one jack (22) of a first type (active jack) the cylinder (22B) of which is fixed with respect to the vessel, the first set (6) of pulleys being rigidly connected to the cylinder, the second set (7) of pulleys being fixed to the end of the rod (22A) of the jack, said jack being actuated by a servo-valve (41) receiving said signals, the second set (7) of pulleys being further fixed to the rod (21A) of at least one jack (21) of a second type (passive jack), said jack having a cylinder (21B) which is fixed with respect to the vessel, said cylinder being connected to at least one hydraulic accumulator (26A) of the oil-gas type, characterized in that the accumulator (26A) is connected to a compressed gas source (35) through release means (36) having an output pressure which is adjustable in function of the length of the unwound cable in a manner to render the system substantially astatic.
