[origin: US4457438A] A tamperproof closure comprises a cap which is surrounded by a sleeve, the latter having a ring which is separated upon opening of the closure to signal such opening. The sleeve is provided with grooves receiving ribs on the outer surface of the cap, the ribs being flanked by shoulders of the sleeve to axially couple the two members together. The cap provides the seal for the neck of the container and both members can be separately molded from synthetic resin.
