[origin: WO8301571A1] A number of naturally occurring antibodies to human erythrocyte surface antigens are capable of combining with their specific antigens (for example, Rhesus factor), but are not capable of producing visible hemagglutination. Also, the sensitivity of many diagnostic methods, such as in human blood typing, depends upon cell agglutination. The present invention provides liposome-protein conjugates, especially useful for hemagglutination assays, having an enhanced agglutination capacity with respect to antibody from which the conjugates are derived.

Plusieurs anticorps se produisant naturellement sur des antigènes en surface d'érythrocytes humains sont capables de se combiner avec leurs antigènes spécifiques (par exemple le facteur Rhésus), mais sont incapables de produire une hémagglutination nuisible. De même, la sensibilité de nombreux procédés diagnostics, tels que la détermination du groupe sanguin chez l'homme, dépend de l'agglutination des cellules. La présente invention permet d'obtenir des conjugués liposomes-protéines, spécialement utiles pour des analyses d'hémagglutination, ayant une capacité d'agglutination accrue par rapport à l'anticorps d'où les conjugués sont dérivés.
