A hot-blast cupola furnace having a longlife lining, a top part (16) formed with a charging aperture (3), and a bottom part (17) which is mobile on a running gear (38) and which has a blast means (9) for supplying the blast and which, in the operative state, is connected to the furnace top part (16) disengageably at a sealed joint (14) and, in the disengaged state, is interchangeable for another furnace bottom part (18) the furnace top part (16) connected in manner known per se to a waste gas line (7) of a waste gas extractor (4) being pivotable upwards about a horizontal axis (24-24) spaced from the furnace axis (47-47), out of its operative position in which it is connected to a furnace bottom part (17 or 18).
