[origin: WO8301443A1] An improved cement for making concrete and mortar comprises a blend of ground calcium carbonate or Portland cement kiln dust, or both, and ground, granulated blast furnace slag. While its physical and chemical characteristics differ from Portland cement, it is a functional substitute for Portland cement and may be used in combination with Portland cement in a wide range of proportions. The hardening and other characteristics of this slag-dust cement can be improved by the addition of SO3, ordinarily by adding ground gypsum and by the use of accelerators and high-range water reducing formaldehyde compounds.

Ciments améliorés servant à la fabrication de béton et de mortier comprenant un mélange de carbonate de calcium moulu ou d'une poudre de ciment Portland séchée au four, ou des deux, avec du laitier de haut-fourneau granulé moulu. Tandis que ces caractéristiques physiques et chimiques sont différentes de celles du ciment Portland, ce ciment est un substitut fonctionnel du ciment Portland et peut être utilisé en combinaison avec le ciment Portland dans une large gamme de proportions. La prise et d'autres caractéristiques de ce ciment de laitier-poudre peuvent être améliorées par l'addition de SO3, en général en ajoutant du gypse moulu et par l'utilisation d'accélérateurs et de composés de formaldéhyde de réduction d'eau.
