[origin: WO8301673A1] A catalytic stove comprised of a housing having a fuel burning chamber (30) and an effluent chamber (44) separated by a domed common wall (40). An air inlet port (60) is located in the fuel burning chamber and draft air is introduced to burning fuel through an apertured thermal control unit (240) which detects changes in stove temperature. A closure flap (230) is rotatable across the aperture. The thermal control unit, the flap and the aperture cooperate to ensure that the effective area of the aperture changes by an amount approximately proportional to the square of the magnitude of any change in the stove temperature detected by the thermal control unit. Effluent from the fluel flows substantially directly and smoothly from the fuel to a finned holder (322) at the top of the domed wall. The fins (330) then create turbulence in the combustible gases emanating from the burning fuel. The holder supports a secondary air introduction ring (324) which uniformly introduces preheated secondary air to the combustible gases through a plurality of ports (344) thus forming a substantially homogeneous mixture of gases which are then delivered to a catalyst (56) above the dome.

Un poêle catalytique comprend un boîtier possédant une chambre de combustion de combustible (30) et une chambre d'effluents (44) séparée par une paroi commune à dôme (40). Un orifice d'entrée d'air (60) est disposé dans la chambre de combustion et un courant d'air est introduit jusqu'au combustible en combustion au travers d'une unité de commande thermique (240) présentant des ouvertures qui détecte les variations de la température dans le poêle. Un volet de fermeture (230) peut tourner autour de l'ouverture. L'unité de commande thermique, le volet et l'ouverture agissent de concert pour assurer que la surface effective de l'ouverture varie d'une quantité approximativement proportionnelle au carré de la valeur de toute variation de la température dans le poêle détectée par l'unité de commande thermique. L'effluent provenant du combustible s'écoule sensiblement directement et sans à-coup depuis le combustible jusqu'à un support muni d'ailettes (322) au sommet de la paroi à dôme. Les ailettes (330) créent des turbulences dans les gaz combustibles émanant du combustible en combustion.
