A metal window, consisting of a glazed window frame (1) or a window frame and a glazed casement (3) in which the window frame or the window frame and the casement in each case consist of an inner and an outer hollow section, between which the glazing (3) is disposed, which comprise projecting profiles (11, 12) for connecting elements (6) and which are held at a predetermined spacing from one another, the connecting elements in each case consisting of two connecting parts (14, 15) which engage positively and/or non-positively over the facing profiles of the hollow sections and each of which project via a flange (16 or 17) between the profiles to determine the spacing, characterised in that the hollow sections are rolled sections and the connecting parts (14, 15) are braced together by means of a screw bolt (18) guided through the flanges, in that the profiles (11, 12) comprise a hollow cross-section which broadens in the direction of the connecting elements, i.e. in the direction of the respective facing profile, and their clear cross-section leads into the clear cross-section of the hollow sections, and in that the connecting elements cooperate with the profiles such that, by screwing the screw bolt (18) onto the broadening areas (19, 20) of the profiles (11, 12), a tension acting in the direction of the glazing is built up, as a result of which the latter is braced between the hollow sections.
