Die Erfindung betrifft eine Vorrichtung zum Austauschen eines mit Wickelgut (1) bewickelten Wickelkerns (2) ohne Unterbrechung der Zuführung des Wickelguts (1). Diese Vorrichtung weist eine vertikale Führung (5,6; 7,8) auf, in der die Enden (3,4) des Wickelkerns (2) in Abhängigkeit von der Dicke der Wickelrolle geführt sind, Es ist außerdem eine Vorrichtung (9,10) für den horizontalen Transport der Führung (5,6; 7;8) des Wickelkerns (2) vorgesehen. Da diese Vorrichtung zwei umlaufende Schleifen (9,10) aufweist, welche die Form eines schmalen Rechtecks mit halbkreisförmigen Enden haben, kann ein Wickelkern (2) an den halbkreisförmigen Enden eingeführt oder herausgenommen werden.
