[origin: US4716418A] Apparatus for the ejection of ink droplets having a fluid filled channel having a discharge opening at one end, and a cross-sectional expansion at the other, so that pressure waves within the channel produce by a tubular transducer are reflected from the cross-sectional expansion with reversal of operational sign or polarity. Unipolar pulses having symmetrically and trailing edges excite the transducer, and the droplet is ejected from the discharge opening as a result of the superimposed directed and reflected pressure waves produced by the transducer.

Der mit Flüssigkeit gefüllte Kanal (2) weist an seinem der Austrittsöffnung (3) abgewandten Ende eine Querschnittserweiterung (4) auf, an der die von einem als Antriebselement vorgesehenen Wandler (5) ausgehenden Druckwellen vollständig unter Vorzeichenumkehr reflektiert werden. Als Ansteuerimpulse für den Wandler werden unipolare Impulse mit gleicher Anstiegs- und Abfallflanke verwendet. Der Tröpfchenausstoß wird durch die sich an der Austrittsöffnung (3) einstellenden Druckverhältnisse bewirkt.
