Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0094311A1] 1. A plant for drying materials spreadable in the form of beds permeable to gases according to the counter flow process, said plant including a plurality of perforated drying areas (1) arranged parallel to one another and in series along the flow path (G) of the drying gas so as to be successively passed through by the gas flow, with means to feed the material to be dried on the upstream area (AM) lying at the most downstream position in the gas flow, and means for transferring the same from area to area, up to the most downstream area (AV) which lies at the most upstream position in the gas flow, wherefrom means act to remove it in the dry state, wherein the perforated drying areas (1) are stationary and co-planar and the plant comprises means (13 to 18) for feeding the material to be dried onto the upstream area (AM) in the most downstream position in the gas flow, whereby said means are moving above said area along the longest direction of the areas and lay down the material to be dried in successive sections (a1 ) of said drying area, and means (8 to 11, 29 and 30) for the transference from area to area which take the material from one section (a2 ) of the upstream area, convey it and spread it in a section (a3 ) of the downstream area wherefrom material has just been taken (at a4 ) to be transferred to the next downstream area or to be removed.
