1. A roller shutter (10, 70) of profiled bars (11) which are hinged together at their long sides and define between them joints (17) at the hinge, and of which one long side exhibits a protuberance (29) troughlike in cross-section and provided on the inside with a layer differing from the profiled bar (11) and having an edge fillet (32) which projects partially beyond the interior (30) of the hinge as the hinge socket in which engages the other long side, made as the hinge counterpart (38, 40), of the adjacent profiled bar (11) of the same cross-section, where the layer differing from the profiled bar (11) is formed of an insert profile (50) of approximately U-shaped cross-section of non-metallic material which is interposed in the hinge part and which exhibits on at least one arm (52, 55) of the U a nose (54, 56) which projects in one piece into the joint (17) at the hinge, characterized in that the nose is made as a bead (60, 61) which consists of a material which is softer than the material of the other part of the insert profile (50).

Bei einem Rolladen aus an ihren Längsseiten aneinandergelenkten und zwischen sich Gelenkfugen begrenzenden Profilstäben (11) weist eine Längsseite eine an der Innenseite mit einer zum Profilstab unterschiedlichen Schicht versehene und querschnittlich rinnenartige Ausformung (29) mit den Rinnenraum teilweise überragendem Kantensteg (32) als Gelenkpfanne auf. In diese greift die als Gelenkgegenstück ausgebildete andere Längsseite des benachbarten Profilstabes gleichen Querschnittes ein. Dabei ist die zum Profilstab (11) unterschiedliche Schicht von einem in den Gelenkteil (29) eingefügten Einsatzprofil (50, 50a) etwa U-förmigen Querschnittes nicht metallischen Werkstoffs gebildet, welches zumindest an einem U-Schenkel (55) einen in die Gelenkfuge einragenden Wulst (60, 61) als Dichtelement aufweist.
