In this tractor-compactor train, a roller part 12 is connected to a wheel part 10 via a centre pivot steering with axis 24. The roller part 12 possesses a frame 14 having a crosspiece 20. The crosspiece 20 is connected to a connecting piece 22 and can be displaced laterally from a central position 70 relative to the connecting piece 22 by means of a drive device (hydraulic lifting motor or spindle drive). This makes it safer to compress sloping edges. <IMAGE>

Bei einem knickgelenkten Walzenzug ist mit einem Radteil 10 ein Walzenteil 12 über ein Knickgelenk mit Achse 24 verbunden. Der Walzenteil 12 weist einen Rahmen 14 mit einer Traverse 20 auf. Die Traverse 20 ist mittels mit einem Verbindungsstück 22 verbunden und mittels einer Antriebsvorrichtung (hydraulischer Hubmotor oder Spindeltrieb) aus einer Mittelstellung 70 relativ zu dem Verbindungsstück 22 seitlich verfahrbar. Es wird dadurch eine gefahrlosere Verdichtung von Böschungskanten ermöglicht.
