[origin: US4515152A] A pair of boots each having an outer shell and an inner resilient liner are each contoured to fit at the juncture between a person's foot and leg. The shell and liner of each contoured boot have extended ends that are folded over each other, and secured in the folded position to the person's leg. A support member, attached to the front of the shell, in turn provides for inverted suspension of the person from an independent support member, and a loop attached to the front of the shell extends to contact the back of the person's leg to give torque free suspension to a person wearing the boots.

Um eine unerwünschte und nachteilige Belastung des Beins, vor allen Dingen des Fußgelenks und des Unterschenkels, beim Aufhängen einer Person mit je einer Vorrichtung an jedem Fußgelenk zu vermeiden, wird bei einer Vorrichtung mit einem der Vorderseite des Fußgelenks vorgelagerten Aufhängehaken zur Kompensation eine Abstützung im Wadenbereich mit Hilfe eines rückwärtigen Stützglieds vorgenommen, welches sich wenigstens bis etwa zu Mitte des Wadens oder aber in Richtung Kniekehle noch etwas darüber hinaus erstreckt. Eine andere Lastaufhängung mit einer zur Längsachse des Unterschenkels zentrisch verlaufenden Gewichtskomponente erreicht man durch Anbringen einer die Fußsohle übergreifenden Aufhängeschlaufe, deren beide Enden an einander gegenüberliegenden Flächen des Außenmantels der Vorrichtung etwa im Bereich der Knöchel befestigt sind.
