The link belt consists of a plurality of links (1, 2) whose coils have been joined together in zipper fashion and secured with wires (3) inserted into the channel formed by the overlapping coil arcs. Some of the links (1, 2) consist of polyester, while the others consist of another abrasion-resistant plastics material, preferably polyamide, and the wires (3) consist of polyester. The links (2) which consist of polyamide can have a larger diameter than the links (1) which consist of polyester. The link belt has a long life. On one side of the link belt the uppermost points of all the links can lie substantially in a plane, while on the other side of the link belt the links (2) which consist of polyamide project beyond the links (1) which consist of polyester. In the course of its manufacture, the link belt is heat-set by pulling it with a high longitudinal tension over a heated setting roll or a curved support table. <IMAGE>

Das Spiralband besteht aus einer Vielzahl von Spiralen (1,2), deren Windungen reissverschlussartig ineinandergefügt sind und durch Steckdrähte (3) gesichert sind, die in den Kanal eingefügt sind, der von den sich überlappenden Windungsbögen gebildet ist. Die Spiralen (1, 2) bestehen teils aus Polyester und teils aus einem anderen abriebfesten Kunststoffmaterial, vorzugsweise aus Polyamid und die Steckdrähte (3) bestehen aus Polyester. Die Spiralen (2), die aus Polyamid bestehen, können einen grösseren Durchmesser aufweisen als die Spiralen (1), die aus Polyester bestehen. Das Spiralband zeichnet sich durch eine hohe Laufzeit aus. Auf der einen Seite des Spiralbandes können die obersten Punkte aller Spiralen weitgehend in einer Ebene liegen, während auf der anderen Seite des Spiralbandes die Spiralen (2), die aus Polyamid bestehen, gegenüber den Spiralen (1), die aus Polyester bestehen, hervorstehen. Zur Herstellung wird das Spiralband beim Thermofixieren unter hoher Längsspannung über eine beheizte Fixierwalze oder einen gekrümmten Stütztisch gezogen.
