Abstract (en)
A carding engine has a main carding cylinder (1) with side plates (4) at each side thereof. Each side plate carries a support member (6) having a radially outwardly facing surface (7). A plurality of bend segments (8 to 12) are mounted on the support member (6) and are adjusted relative thereto by shims (16) between the surface (7) and a radially inwardly facing surface (13) of the segment. Each segment presents a bearing surface (14) on which supports (15) on the flat ends may travel.
