Abstract (en)
[origin: US4519438A] A casting tube 8 of a refractory material comprises at its upper end a series of openings for the injection of a protective gas, for example argon, to create an atmosphere which protects the incoming molten metal against oxidation and cools the walls of the casting tube. The injection openings are grooves 11 formed in an upper frustoconical part of the casting tube, whose outer surface defines a fixing collar. These grooves are interconnected by an annular passage 12.

Un tube de coulée (8) en matière réfractaire, présente à sa partie supérieure une série d'orifices d'injection d'un gaz de protection, par exemple de l'argon, en vue de créer une atmosphère protectrice contre l'oxydation du métal et de refroidir les parois du tube de coulée. Les orifices d'injection suivant l'invention sont des rainures (11) ménagées dans la partie supérieure de forme tronconique du tube de coulée (8) sur laquelle est fixé un collet d'assemblage (10). Ces rainures sont reliée entre elles par un canal annulaire (12).
