[origin: EP0094930A2] The apparatus (1) for cutting flexible strip material to length has a conveyor band (2) which feeds the material to a cutting station (3) with a fixed lower knife (4) and a movable upper knife (5). The lower knife (4) located above the conveyor band (2) forms a run-on surface inclined toward the conveyor band (2) and has a cutting edge (8) parallel to the conveyor plane and interacting with the upper knife (5). To allow a continuous cutting of flexible strip material to length in a simple and operationally reliable way and to guarantee the proper further transport of the pieces cut to length, the conveyor band (2) is divided at least in two over its width and the lower knife (4) carries guide tongues (9) projecting from the run-on surface (6) into the gap region between the conveyor-band parts (2'). <IMAGE>
