A process for the formation of a film of liquid on a board, especially a film of glue and hardener on a preferably elongate board (2) intended for the production of wooden load-bearing structures, by casting at least one liquid by means of at least one dispensing vessel (6) which is arranged above the board and transverse to the direction of travel of the latter, and which tapers as width towards the board, the film of liquid being as, or wider than, the board, the board (2) being preferably passed beneath the dispensing vessel (6), the liquid being supplied from the dispersing vessel (6) in the form of a falling curtain, wherein the longitudinal walls (7, 7') of the dispensing vessel (6) are of sieve-like construction, so that the liquid, after passing therethrough, forms a coherent film on the outside of the sieve or perforated plate and a falling curtain as it runs off at the lowest point.
