Azo dyes of the formula <IMAGE> where X is NR<1>R<2>, OR<3> or R<1>, R<1> is substituted or unsubstituted alkyl of 1 to 8 carbon atoms, cycloalkyl of 5 or 6 carbon atoms, alkenyl of 3 to 5 carbon atoms or substituted or unsubstituted phenyl, R<2> is hydrogen or substituted or unsubstituted alkyl of 1 to 8 carbon atoms or alkenyl of 3 to 5 carbon atoms, R<3> is alkyl or cycloalkyl of 5 to 7 carbon atoms or substituted or unsubstituted phenyl, are prepared by diazotisation of the amines of the formula II <IMAGE> and coupling with beta -naphthol, and are used for dyeing and printing hydrophobic fibre materials.

Azofarbstoffe der Formel I <IMAGE> in der X NR¹R², OR³ oder R¹ und R¹ gegebenenfalls substituiertes Alkyl mit 1 bis 8 C-Atomen, Cycloalkyl mit 5 oder 6 C-Atomen, Alkenyl mit 3 bis 5 C-Atomen, oder gegebenenfalls substituiertes Phenyl, R² Wasserstoff oder gegebenenfalls substituiertes Alkyl mit 1 bis 8 C-Atomen oder Alkenyl mit 3 bis 5 C-Atomen, R³ Alkyl oder Cycloalkyl mit 5 bis 7 C-Atomen, gegebenenfalls substituiertes Phenyl bedeuten, ihre Herstellung durch Diazotierung von Aminen der Formel II <IMAGE> und Kupplung auf β-Naphthol, sowie ihre Verwendung zum Färben und Bedrucken von hydrophoben Fasermaterialien.
