Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0096402A1] 1. Trigger-actuated dispensing cap for a pressurized container having a valved closure, the cap comprising : a) a slotted housing (12) adapted to be mounted on the perimeter of the closure, b) an actuator (32) for the valve, the actuator being disposed within the slotted housing and having a valve-connecting portion (36) and a discharge portion (34), these portions defining a discharge duct (38, 40), the actuator (32) being adapted to sealingly connect at one end (42) with the closure and at its other end with a discharge orifice (50) and c) a manually-operated trigger member (56) enganging the discharge portion (34) of the actuator (32) and having its gripping area (68) disposed outside of the housing (12) but within the perimeter of the container (30) that the dispensing cap (10) is adapted to fit, the trigger member (56) being pivoted at the housing a greater distance from the gripping area (68) of the trigger (56) than the distance from the trigger pivot (66) to the place of enganging the trigger member (56) to the actuator (32), thereby the trigger member providing a lever, characterized in that the actuator (32) has a hinged portion (54) connecting the actuator (32) and housing (12) such that the actuator provides a lever, and that the pivot of the trigger member (56) is a hinge (66).
