Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0096826A1] 1. A process for the production of a pack for a material capable of flow, comprising side walls (1) which are connected together in a tubular configuration by way of at least one longitudinal sealing seam and end walls (2) which are applied to the ends of a tube which is of round cross-section and form the bottom (2) and the top of the pack, wherein the side walls (1) comprise cardboard which is coated at least on one side with thermoplastic material, the bottom (2) of the pack as a flat wall portion is disposed on a tool (8) and together with same moved vertically towards the edge (3) of the tube, with the free edge (3) or the side walls (1) being flanged out by 20 degrees to 40 degrees relative to the vertical, it is thereupon pressed on to the edge (3) and the edge (5) of the bottom (2) is sealed on to the edge (3) of the tube, thereupon the tool (8) is withdrawn, and wherein finally the sealed edges (3, 5) of the side wall (1) and the bottom (2) are raised into the vertical again, characterised in that, after the edge (5) of the bottom has been sealed on to the edge (3) of the tube, when the tool (8) is withdrawn, the outer edge (5) of the bottom (2) is laid over around the free edge face (4) of the side edge (3) and is laid over through 180 degrees relative to the inward side outwardly on to the outside surface of the side wall (1) and is welded there.
