[origin: EP0083469A2] This invention comprises a synthetic whole blood useful as a substitute for whole natural mammalian blood and a method of making the same. The method of manufacture yields a composition of matter comprised of a two phase coacervate system. The claimed system successfully substantially duplicates the two phase heterogeneous physicochemical system of naturally occurring whole mammalian blood. Also disclosed is a phase of the claimed method of manufacture which produces a composition of matter, useful as a substitute for naturally occurring hematocrit.

Sang entier synthétique utile en tant que succédané du sang entier naturel des mammifères et son procédé de production. Le procédé de production permet d'obtenir une composition de matière comprenant un système coacervé à deux phases. Le système ci-décrit permet de reproduire avec succès sensiblement le système physico-chimique hétérogène à deux phases présent naturellement dans le sang entier des mammifères. Une phase du procédé de production est également décrite, permettant d'obtenir une composition de matière utile en tant que succédané de l'hématocryte naturel.
